Why don't we have a shopping cart?

When you use Shopping Cart you are simply sending an email with information. But the email is infexible, often with fixed postage, and no person involved. We try to do better by having someone answer your email.

We may be able to warn our customer off a book or product, or offer something better. There may be a cheaper way to mail items, or we may be able to avoid postage altogether. Any of this is unlikely to happen with Shopping Cart.

On the practical side it would take years to log all our different items on to a Shopping Cart, and calculate the postage.
